General Pack 168 Information

Cub Scout Pack 168 is a family oriented program of fun activities for boys in the first through fifth grade.  We have been sponsored by St. Theresa's Roman Catholic Church for over 51 years -- since 1956!   The Pack meets in St. Theresa's School on Monday nights during the school year.  There are no meetings over the summer but there is some family activities planned.

If you are in the first through fifth grade and think you may want to join, have a parent or guardian send an e-mail to pack168comm@pack168bsa.org and one of our adult leaders will contact you..  Right now we have members in the Pack from St. Theresa School, St. Andrews School, John Winthrop School, Blackham School.  Although we are sponsored by St. Theresa's, children of all religions are welcome to join.

Scroll down the page to see photos and information about our activities and learn about some of the fun things we do.  (Note that all overnight activities are family activities and require a parent or guardian to accompany the Cub).

 Blue and Gold Banquet
St. Nicholas Church Hall

The highlight of our Scout Year is our Annual Blue and Gold Banquet.  At the banquet, scouts and their families enjoy a wonderful meal with accompanied by a unique program of entertainment and awards.   The evening is an opportunity for our Scouts' extended families to enjoy our pack and the accomplishments of the boys.  The 2004 banquet was held on March 7, at St. Nicholas Church Hall in Bridgeport.  The event was catered by the St. Nicholas Teens as a service project.

At the banquet, scouts collected toiletries and items for "Homes for the Brave", a transitional housing program for veterans in Bridgeport.   Over 100 awards were presented to our hard-working scouts during a production of teh pack 168 version of "Goldilocks and the Three Bears". The highlight of the evening was the awarding of the "Arrow of Light" to four of our Webelos II scouts who then crossed over into Trumbull Boy Scout Troops 65 & 68.

Family Picnic

Flag Retirement Ceremony at the Campfire (2001)

Our last official activity of the year is our Family Picnic held in June.  It is a family event so Mom's, sister and brothers can come too!  We camp on the field behind St. Theresa's School on Saturday afternoon.  We cook, play all kinds of games and simply have fun!  At night we have our campfire and cook marshmallows on sticks and make smore's.  At our campfire program, we have a flag retirement ceremony for a worn out American Flag.

Annual Fishing Derby

Fishing Derby Photo

Each year, the Trumbull Veterans of Foreign Wars Post sponsors a Fishing Derby for kids.  Grownups are not allowed to fish -- it is ONLY for kids!  This year a number of Pack 168 members tried their hand at fishing.  Not too many fish were caught but some great door prizes were taken home.
